PURCHASE OF CLASSROOM PICTURES, YEARBOOKS, AND CLASS RINGS

The use of professional photographers to take pictures on school premises to sell to students and parents (including school yearbook pictures) and the sale of class rings, is permitted within the schools, subject to provisions of the General Statutes regulating methods of competition and deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of trade or commerce in this state.

IN GENERAL:

1. Contracts signed by employees or students for materials, equipment, supplies, or services are to be awarded on the basis of competitive bidding. (Reference: Board of Education policies _____ [3330] and _____ [3410]).

2. Board of Education members or employees and students are prohibited from accepting gifts from any person(s) or organization(s) who plan to do or are doing business with the school system.
